Our program this day was interesting demonstration on colour, the colour wheel and complimentary colours..how to arrange values and what will draw the eye.  Brenda Dunsmore from the KV and the Akerly quilt guilds was the guest speaker. She gave us a small portion of her day class just to whet our appetite to learn more...perhaps a project day will be forthcoming....  Jackie got her crayon quilt done and used some of  the fancy stitches on her new sewing machine....I think she had some fun that certainly paid off.  Jackie's sister is getting this microwave potato bag....... and this casserole carrier...lucky woman! Agathe has been scrap quilting..this beauty along with a second similar one has minke as the backing making them warm and comfy...they go to our Chemo Quilt project and will be fully appreciated.  Ethel is back and brought this wonderful little boy's quilt she made from a panel..you just know some little boy is going to love it. We braved the chilly winter night and had some amazing show and tell.  Here is a block of the day by Chris Finnis....It was supposed to be for the whole year but she decided enough was enough.  Isn't it fabulous!  Here's another project she's finishing up a gorgeous miniature....sure hope she gets it quilted for the quilt show in September. And just look at the backing she is putting on that miniature...sure do love to see interesting things on the back as well as the front.  Our resident bag lady...Wendy has made a cozy for her scissors...hers turned out to be bigger than mine and I think I prefer hers...maybe it is time for me to make another. When I say "Bag Lady" I really mean it.  Look at this adorable purse Wendy made...with ruffles...so ultra feminine but that's not the neatest thing about it...she put an inset zipper pocket in it and is hooked ...we will be seeing more of her bags with inset zippered pockets...so smart , that girl!

We're back from our Christmas break and Marilyn got right down to it with the ladies of the evening...they made these scissor cozies for their first evening back. This beautiful pillow was a gift...lucky Marilyn! Here's next month's project for the night time group.  This is an ironing board with a pocket to hold your cutting ruler.  Neat pattern and so convenient for those away from home projects.  Agathe fell in love with the scrappy nine patch and made another for the cancer quilt project we have on the go....another beauty with flannel backing. This one...again with gorgeous fabrics has a patterned fabric for the sashing...just a little different but equally beautiful.  Lilliane is hiding behind this sweet little snowman wall hanging she made. Ellen has kept her fingers busy using up her wool scraps ...a work in progress.  This is Gail's cancer quilt from the envelope patterns...such soft pastels ...sure is pretty...  Sheila wanted to rem
