February Program

Look at the "Gorbies"!!!!! Jackie, from the Fabric Cupboard in Moncton stopped in for a visit and you wouldn't know but the quilters hadn't seen fabric in months. Money changed hands, smiles were from ear to ear and we got some choice fabrics , gizmos and gadgets and even got to use our credit cards the "old tech" way.  Fun! Fun! Fun!...thank you, Jackie!!
Marilyn showed us the cowls she has been knitting. Getting a start on next year's Christmas gifts...such an organized lady.
See what's sitting on the chair ...it is a fabric bucket...made by Marilyn...and such a clever idea. Great for storing yarn, kids toys , magazines...you name it. It also, is the project the "Evening ladies" will be doing next month. Marilyn ensures us it is easy-peasy.
Clever Vivan...brought the quilt she made for her grandson who's a fan of Lightning McQueen. What a great job...perfect fabrics and so well depicted...lucky Jaxon.
Susan made this table topper or placemat for the tea pot and a couple of mug rugs to match. Let's all go for tea at Susan's...but make sure it is in pairs so we get  to use this Pretty set.
Here's a closeup of Lightning McQueen..those hand prints are from Vivian's grandsons..what a treasured keepsake.
Susan finished her block of the month from last year ...hand quilted....and showed us the label that identified the designer, where she found the pattern and her name , location and year.  The best way to label for sure.
Renate is a newbie but you'd never know it...this beautiful, huge quilt is from the first class she took with the evening ladies. She took to quilting like a duck to water plus she does meticulous work.
Here's the backing for the above quilt. Gillian suggested the design to make the backing fit well, Renate went with it and now we are all anxious to see it quilted. Well done, ladies.
Melda got her BOM from last year done as well.  They are so beautiful and so individually distinctive.
Kay has her act all together and is just speeding along with this year's BOM. Clever way to display it as it progresses, like a portable design wall.
Something worth waiting for. Sherry took on this project a few years ago and finally got it all quilted this winter. Such a lovely job of cross stitch, as well as quilting. Stunning, Sherry.

February Fun

Our evening ladies are making a half-hexie quilt...a quick and fabulous way to make a quilt...great for machine quilting or hand quilting...their choice.
Here the evening ladies show off their wonderful Smitten with Mitten table runners all finished and looking great.. Nice to see them all done....and well done ladies.

Jean took a shine to the ten minute block that Marilyn demonstrated last program day ...good colour choice , Jean.
Evelyn made her Smitten with Mitten table runner and it looks great.
Jean made these wonderful little  quilts for some happy little girls..way, to go Jean.
Ann has been busy Knitting these wonderful intarsia sweaters...another to be sent away. I wonder if she would consider adopting me????
Kay is working on the BOM and it's coming together wonderfully.
Marlene designs her own table runners and quilts and does a great job.
Hiding behind a Valentine's table topper is our own Marilyn Wynn,...in her hand you can also see the raw edge mug rugs.
Leigh is getting her BOM done on time....wish I could say the same.
ReBecca showed us a way to recycle and keep our wrists warm while quilting or knitting.  The cuffs she has on came from an angora sweater that perhaps found the water too warm and shrunk a bit...don't throw it out , recycle and keep your wrists warm.
Jillian designed this wonderful tablecloth size......needs to be packaged in pattern form and sold at our quilt show next year...right, Jillian???
Joan West got this wonderful  quilt done...not sure how long she said it took her to finish it but it was well worth the wait...gorgeous!
Betty told us five years but what does it really matter...it's done and it is gorgeous...so Valentine...y...Great job, Betty.
This is my contribution to show and tell...a hexie bag...fun technique...mostly by hand with a little machine work thrown in to get it done by today....Cheers, everyone!
