September 24, 2019

Before I begin with our show and tell for September 24, I would like to give myself a kick in the butt....we had Brenda Dunsmore come to visit and give us an amazing trunk show....full absolutely full of wonderful ideas...both creative and practical plus ideas for our guild to add to our program...I was her Vanna and forgot to take pictures.  Sorry, sorry, sorry!!!

Now on to show and tell, here are Jeannie's pouches from the evening ladies.  This is the project they worked on Monday Night.
Marilyn's daughter has a friend that is expecting triplets....don't know whether to feel sorry for her or extra excited.....and her is one of three sleeping bags that zipper from the bottom up...so darned cute!

plus Marilyn made three swaddling blankets....again so cute!
Then she showed up this wonderful poncho she made by taking a pattern off one she had purchased so she could make more...they will be in the November craft sale...hurry in if you want one!
Helen and Leigh went to Juliette Nowlens and did some dying...look at the beautiful colours they brought home.  I think they had fun....
That's Vera hiding behind this quilted panel.  She got it from Marilyn last meeting, took it home, quilted it and brought it back to give to Joyce for the cuddle program.
Ellie made this wonderful quilt from a pattern she got at the Fabric Cupboard in Moncton...she did a wonderful job!
Pat bought, what she thought was a panel to quilt but when she got it home , she realized it was a fabric alphabet book...Seems appropriate for a retired teacher, don't you think?
Marjorie has a wonderful neighbour that has helped her out on occasion so she made this single bed sized quilt for his little boy. Such a generous thing to do.
Patty was busy binding this quilt and agreed to show us anyway.  Good job there, girl!

Melda is a fan of Sindy Rodenmayer too.  This is Melda's version of her funky rooster pattern...looks like it was fun to do..
Here we go again..another year of fun and fabric. Jackie started off show and tell with this table topper.  She does beautiful embroidery work...I should capture her some day and get her to help me get started on my new embroidery machine.
Susan made this phone charger...plug into the wall and drop your phone in the pocket...works like a charm......
and this is a kitchen "boa"...drape around your neck while cooking or doing dishes and you have your towel handy......clever girl.....
Pat had the fabric and Ethel had the know how...so they collaborated and here is Pat's  tote ...sure is pretty.
Believe it nor not, the actual colour of this wonderful "Squedge" ruler table runner is gold not yellow...the camera did its thing to show us Helen's table runner.
Joyce finished her miniature...the one she learned how to paper piece with Leigh. It turned out great...do love miniatures.
Judith made this skinny wall hanging...she said for the quilt show but I think it really is for her.
Marlene worked on a queen sized quilt this summer but gifted it , so we don't get to see it. Instead she brought in this really pretty wall hanging she made to work on during the summer heat.
Jean made this beauty(another gold quilt that shows yellow) for a wedding gift.  Hand quilted with lots of love...it is beautiful!
Ethel is her usual kind self making bags for the female clients at the Portage.  Those girls will love these....only eight more to go.
She also made this amazing quilt with Dalmation puppies and fire trucks. Some little boy will just love it...she gave it to Joyce for our Cuddle Quilt program...so generous.
Mary went to the Villa Madonna this past spring and won the Strip Poker games TWICE!!!! so she put together this floor mat......She won TWICE, I say...now how often does that happen!
She also did some "Little Twister" and made this bag......
and this sweet table topper...Hey, I can't get past that winning strip poker TWICE!!!
Cynthia made this quilt with trucks and heavy duty equipment for a little boy...he will love it.....
and this is for a little guy that loves hockey...need I say more.
This is a window dressing she made for her spare room...it goes very well with the border that she showed us.
Muriel's little grandson loves Pikachu so needless to say, he needed a pillow case with his hero on it...She's a good grandma!!

September 9, 2019

We are up and running for our new year of quilting projects.  Unfortunately , this beautiful bear's paw quilt is for a young lady who has been diagnosed with cancer.  Carolyn's grand daughter's friend will be the recipient.   Lovely thing to do , Carolyn.
Jeannie is still working on her Delectable Mountains and when it is done it will be fabulous.
Beth put together this scrappy and quilted it by long arm at Spruce it Up in Port Elgin. Way to go there, Beth.
Caroline made this amazing bag.  She bought the fabrics two years ago and finally got around to putting it together and boy is she glad she did, it was full of "stuff".
Like this ten minute block for the daughter of a friend....
and this one for the son of the same friend.  Which makes you a good friend, Caroline.
Marilyn has been busy knitting, especially now that a friend of her daughter is expecting triplets.  That should keep Marilyn busy for a while. She is such a generous person and doing things for triplets is right up her alley.
Look at this Delectable Mountains...batiks with black...how stunning is that!.....long arm quilting from Spruce it Up by Marilyn....I bet she had fun.
and here is another one she quilted at Port Elgin....a Jewel box in Kansas Troubles.  Another stunner!
