Linda started with show and tell this evening with her "gotta have a new quilt" for her bed. Got minky on the back, too. (actually called the Rail Fence)
This is another minky backed quilt she did called
"Spring Fling"...it might be a Missouri Star Quilt Co. pattern and it is gorgeous.
She's hiding behind her pillow slips , to match her "new bed quilt" but the big surprise of the night is that she put the grommets in all by herself...well done, there GirL!!!
Chris got into the tree making mode and completed this table topper square...she's working on a quilt with the same pattern of trees for accent...can't wait to see that one...
Joanne got her quilt as you go cosmetic bag done...you can't see the red interior that sets it off so well.
And this cute little hat is crocheted for some wee gentleman or perhaps a hip little lady...
Janice got this fabulous bag for Christmas ....it had a scissor holder to go with it...wonder who the talented lady is that made it?????
While she made mug rugs out of the pattern of quilt as you go.
Evelyn went one step further and made her cosmetic quilt as you go out of selvedges....
what a super idea...here's the back!
This beauty I call "Bricks" is Evelyn's as well...the camera does not do it justice...it is beautiful.
And so is this "Majestic Mountains"...also Evelyn's.
as is this beauty...Log cabin....really like the way she put it all together. She has been one busy lady.
I call this one "Rainy day, curl up with a good book on the sofa" Quilt. It is made from flannels and so cosy.
Beth got into making pillow cases.....
and just couldn't seem ...
to stop ....she brought only three to show us.
This is Ruth's Hunter's Star...she raided her stash and thinks it is actually shrinking...little does she know it multiplies when you are not looking.
This is another quilt as you go technique that Marilyn is going to show her ladies......it's flannel....
and reversible. Really neat!!
This "Carpenter's Star" was worked on at the Villa Madonna two years ago..it has been machine quilted by Marilyn and is now ready to be bound. Stunning! and beautiful fabrics.
there is always one picture that, for some reason, ends up being out of sequence and tonight this one is it. This sweet quilt is Joanne's...it is lap quilt size and is being made for her Mom. It will be backed with red, maybe quilted with red thread and no doubt loved when it is done...can't wait to see it finished.
A place for like minded quilters to gather and share ideas, techniques and projects.
October 8, 2019
October is a wonderful month...cool days and
changing leaves....who could ask for more?
Here is Joan's table runner...cute little owls.
It would not surprise me in the least if Joan didn't design this herself...she is one talented lady.
Here's what Patty did all summer...tucked away in a screened in porch with her sewing machine.......Number One!
Number two.......
Number three...........
and number four...these are prayer quilts and wonderfully done Patty!
This beauty has over 2000 little tiny wedges for the Wee Dresden's ....an heirloom for sure. It also won a ribbon at the KVQG show for Diana in applique...well deserved!
Marilyn has her knitting needles out again and brought this soft yarned beanie to show....
along with another soft and fuzzy yarned scarf or shawl...your choice. Either way they are soft to the touch and oh so cozy...
Jackie, as well, has been knitting and brought 24 preemie caps to pass in.
Vera reminded us of her unusual crayon colours from last year's challenge...purple, orange and yellow...clever girl got it together in one cute jack-o-lantern!
Then she showed us this sweet candle mat with blanket stitching...patience, thy name is Vera!
Marjorie is being a great neighbour again...this sweet quilt is for a little girl that lives close by. What a nice thing to do.
Jean brought in a couple of kitchen scarfs (boas)...not sure what they are called but they are certainly practical and save your clothes...especially if you are a cook like me that wipes her hands on whatever is available.
Then she showed us this beauty that is a wedding gift. Lovely!
Cynthia made this wall hanging for winter as a take with her project while waiting in the hospital. Good thing quilters know things like that to do....
Muriel made this quilt for the daughter of a dear friend that has passed away. What a lovely keepsake!

October 7, 2019 Evening Ladies
The ladies are having a wonderful time making these easy zippered cosmetic bags...they make the greatest Christmas gifts. Here is Carolyn's
Joanne's
Evelyn made
two.......
Caroline made hers with Red Hatter's fabric.....
and Beth made hers from this really neat fabric....
Here are the only two quilts that got shown...this is Linda's scrappy.......we shall consider that a
co-ordinated scrappy but for Linda that is a big deal as she is a very co-ordinated person.
Now this is what I would call scrappy...Beth made this beauty for a raffle quilt for her church....looking to find a hand quilting group or person......
