 Retreat Happenings

Susan S. gave a  report on the events that took place at Retreat in April 2024.There were games, exchanges, prizes and gift bags. Other groups were also attending their own functions at the Villa so they all got together at least once a day. Those who attended were able to shop at a trunk show.
By all accounts they had great meals and a lot of fun.
Susan explained that some items were donated but when items  had to be purchased it was with funds raised at the previous year's retreat
Susan showed retreat projects both on Monday night and at the Tuesday meeting. Some other members brought items in on Tuesday as well.

Susan used 2.5 inch squares for this project and there are two squares from each attendee and everyone signed the label.

3.5 inch squares were used to make this fabric bucket/basket
Lining and accent fabric were purchased with funds raised last year.

A pin cushion in a picture frame was an easy no sew project.

Pin cushions were the theme of the paper bag exchange. every time a person moved around the room they took their paper bag to another table to exchange
The one Susan got to take home had a small pin cushion in it. She felt it was a perfect match for her.

Susan made a very pretty appliqued runner.

This Heart quilt was made from fabric from Woven Modern Fabric Gallery owned by member Kelly Dine.

Susan got the pattern for this large bag in the Chinese Auction and made it at home after the retreat.

The retreat project that Debbie F. showed was doll clothes. Both outfits are so cute. Did you notice the "cow" and "strawberry" print fabrics and the fact she made a hat too?

Muriel G. practiced on music themed pillowcases.

She then made 2 pair of pillowcases with the same fabric as the Guild Quilt. Those will go along with the quilt to a lucky purchaser.

Ethel R. displayed her Dresden Plate and Churn Dash ( Hole in the Barn Door ) Blocks.

President's Challenge Submissions

As the title suggests our president Judith H. chose the challenge theme.
Borrow a book from our guild library and make something from it. It can be big as in a quilt, a piece of clothing, a table runner, or something as small as a pin cushion or any other number of things...your choice. The only restriction is it must contain at least one piece of fabric from Cindy’s store (Crafters Vineyard).

These are Judy's examples
