There's a happy smile. Susan Snyder won the people's choice for Wall Hanging. She had made that wonderful Applique Flowers this past year. She had done some applique over the years and wanted to try the dimensional flowers. She mastered it easily. Not hard to see why she won the ribbon. Such a pretty wallhanging.
A place for like minded quilters to gather and share ideas, techniques and projects.
Another Winner

Sweet Threads of Life, 2012
Here we go, uprights , bases and bars , all ready to go thanks to wonderful workers(and some husbands) at the Sussex Branch of the Royal Canadian Legion. What a great bunch of men to cart these all in from the trucks and start putting them together . Many, many thanks to them all.
Trying to get organized with the registration forms and sorting out tags to go with each of the quilts, wallhangings, miniatures and various other 'thingies' we all made over the past two years. Hard on the head to keep it all straight and this was early, early in the morning.
the rows look a little empty right now, but notice how bright the whole room is...a wonderful venue.
Lillian Kyle and Melda MacMillan are two extraordinary designers. This was the start....this greeted you as you came in the Legion front entrance.
Notice the wonderful sign Lilliane made to welcome all and sundry to our show and sale.
Here's the admission table before the hordes descended. Doesn't it look great!!!
A charming display....see that cornucopia...full of fat quarters...such a super idea and so befitting a quilt show. We had to keep a close eye on that cat under the plant...so many ladies were eyeing it rather voraciously....cats and quilts...they just go hand in hand.
From the opposite angle. Our guest book , wrapped in a quilt.
And here we begin....a Field in Bloom..thousands of hexagons and gorgeous. Irene just amazes me..her work is so beautiful and well done.
Here's the original design category and the oh so many miniatures(only three...will have to change that for next time...workshops , here we come) The Sandhill Crane was our winner in this category and it's no wonder. I expected that bird to just walk right out of the quilt and start wandering around. Great job, Leigh Smith.
Just look at Sandra Carter's Sunflower wall hanging. From this angle you can reach out and stroke the petals...
Our sale corner was a busy spot. Everyone looking for gifts at Sherry Maxwell's Christmas Corner...good idea, Sherry.
Our vendors...Five for two days...The Riverview Gallery, Joanne's Christmas Crab & Quiltery, Crafter's Vineyard, Town and Country Quilts and Books for You, then on Saturday the Mariner's Pieces from PEI.
Our guild corner. Usually we see Judy Steeves, she must have been on one of her rare coffee breaks. She and Sandra Alston do a wonderful job of arranging and displaying all our activities. Boy , we sure are a busy bunch.
Raffle quilt...winner Pat McGouey(362 telephone exchange), Print was won by Faye Wiggins, Quilt Rack by Ann Alexander and the Turned bowl won by Jim Davis...take note here, Carol bought his ticket...what a good wife she is.
this is what greeted you when you walked in the hall...showy and beautiful.. Loved Patti Hoyt's Canadian Provincial Flowers...I've looked for that pattern for years...saw a picture that someone had taken out of the magazine but never, ever saw the pattern. I even contacted the magazine and they said they had no more copies. Nice to see it in person.

Annnnnd....we're Back!!
Blogger wasn't going to let me get back on the blogspot after taking the summer off....but I persevered and here we are. Just look at this wonderful quilt...yes, Ce Pearson it IS a quilt...a yoyo quilt and it is amazing with over 1700 yoyo's. I just hope she will keep her promise and display it in our show in 10 days...yes, you read right..10 days.
Leigh Smith makes the neatest things. This is a pumpkin pin cushion. Sure would look good on my coffee table...hint!, hint!
Here's our bag lady....Marilyn Wynn can beat me hands down for having the most quilted bags. This one is a great tote and would make an even nicer purse...downsized just a tad.
I like this one too, it's a Sweet Sixteen Bag made with charm squares. I'm in need of another purse..that one would do. Good thing it is on our program this fall.
Here's another bag...this one is fat quarter friendly. Notice the fabric...it's Canadian...Marilyn is off to Scotland this fall and decided she wanted folks to know exactly where she's visiting from. ....that'll work.
I missed Joan Smith telling us what this was for...so if any of you can remember please let me know and I will rewrite this. It looks kind of neat...wouldn't you say?
Judy Steeves had a bag...it was a nice one that a friend had made for her and in it she had her "all things chocolate" challenge that I'm sure you will see at the quilt show along with her Etui challenge.....as to all, we can attest , better late than never.
Here's Vivian Hayward's Spring Garden Sampler quilt that she worked on over the summer. Pretty , pretty and will be in the quilt show.
Some lucky son and bride will be delighted that Mom quilted this for them. It's "Dressed to the Nines" done by President, Muriel Gilbert...Nice job , Muriel. Love the colours you chose.
And here she is again, bragging this time. She got herself some really great bargains. Not that we begrudge her these wonderful quilter's toys, just wish we could have been with her when she went shopping and found them for ourselves too. Congrats, Muriel...we shall see them at "sew" days, right??
