January 22 /13 Meeting

Program day!...The best of both worlds...we get to see Show and Tell AND do some machine or hand work... how great is that.  Here's Susan  with her table topper  ...I'm calling it a "Cup of Joe"  , not  sure what Susan calls it.  Nice Job!
Carol showed us a mini wall hanging she said she has been working on for a while.  She does the 'miniest' (not sure that is a word) projects both large and small. Amazine projects.
Here's a wonderful crazy quilt with fussy cut bird centres belonging to Pat Bell and quilted by Carol Davis. gorgeous.
Gail Rodgers showed us her Snippet wreath.  Great job , Gail.
Ellen Henderson did a Snippet Wreath as well and it is lovely...such a pretty Christmas pattern.
Marilyn made a couple of fleece Chemo Caps...snuggly , soft and so warm. No doubt with the cold weather we've been experiencing lately they will be much appreciated.
Renata is one of our new members and is an 'experienced beginner'. She knows her way around a sewing machine and proves it every time.  This is her hexie project...a set of placemats...everyone else made a table topper..Goes to show...if your are interested nothing can stop you.
Here she shows an applique table runner she made to go with her placemats. Such pretty colours.
Here's the half square triangle lesson we did at evening guild. Renata decided she would make a quilt and do it 'her way'.  Can't wait to see it all put together.
Here Ann and Susan display a comfy , comfort quilt pieced and quilted by Marg Stevens.  Way to go, girl!!!
Jackie just can't be held back. She decided to split her BOM into two infant quilts. Here's the first part...the rest will be done when she's back from gallivanting the winter away.
One of our newest members, Beverly MacDonald showed us one of the pieces she has been working on..."home is where the cat is"...for many , that is sooo true.

After Show and Tell, we did a round of demonstrations...five in all, The Ten minute block by Marilyn Wynn, The disappearing Four Patch by Vivian Hayward , The Quick Flying Geese by Judy Steeves,  The Back basting Applique method by Susan Snyder and the Quick Nine Patch Blocks by yours truly.  The time just flew by as we demo'd and explained and showed and then we just had to have a cup of tea!!.
