Christmas 2013

At our Christmas Banquet , Ann brought her yo-yo wall hanging all finished and she was right the silver beads really gives it sparkle.  Nice job!
These are ornaments to go to the Kiwanis Nursing home to help decorate their tree. The response for small ornaments was wonderful and I am sure the residents will enjoy seeing them on their tree.
Lucky Kay has two great grandchildren and , of course, each one should have their own quilt so what's a great-grandma going to do?  Make two of them. Good going, Great Grand ma...
Here's Vivian showing us her ornaments all sparkly and shiny...ready for the Kiwanis tree.

This wonderful jigsaw puzzle quilt is by Vivian Hayward and made for her grand son....lucky kids who have grandmas that quilt.

It was Helen's turn for the Froggy challenge and she entertained us with the story of her grandfather...a true Scotsman in his kilt and tam, a thimble in his sporran for his wee drop of whiskey. What a cute little guy with his buggy eyes.  A lot of work and imagination went into that froggy...
Ann got us into the Christmas spirit with an adaption of the "Night before Christmas" quilter style.
Here's Judy showing us the pillow she made for her grand son AND The doll she made for her grand daughter in the next picture.

Jean was busy making ornaments and a tree skirt that her grand daughters used as an actual skirt until they realized it was meant to go under the tree not around their waists....
Well, I am sad to say that my  camera's battery went on me after this picture and I won't be able to show you some of the other  wonderful projects that were brought for show and tell.  However, we had a great Christmas turkey meal put on by the St. John United Church women's group. They fed us very well ,with homemade pickles and great pies for dessert.
