Program Day, April 28,2015

We got together to sew a quilt top that will be the raffle quilt for the 2016 quilt show.  Here's Joyce Bean  doing some pressing....notice the staging behind her...it's relatively new and really snazzy.  The church hall is used for a lot of musical evenings and this makes for a great venue.
Ann, Judy, Ethel and Jean all working their little hearts out sewing and cutting and matching and making it all work. It's great to have an assembly line atmosphere when putting together a top and even greater when many hands help out.
Sandra, Helen, Marilyn and yours truly had this station. You can see the new chairs the hall has and are they ever comfortable. They just spoil us so much....
Sheila and Vera are getting the table ready for the lunch crew plus a place for the workers to eat their own lunch before the meeting.  Cheryl is busy working away on her scrappy nine patch...hers has coral grouting and spring/summer flowers in the patches...really pretty and so feminine.
Marlene is one of those quilters that works mostly on larger pieces...however, this is a cuddle quilt...isn't it a great cuddly quilt!
And look at this beauty...the picture does not do it justice...it is stunning...I absolutely love the large border with the Friendship stars in the corners...great job, Marlene ...this one HAS to go in the quilt show  next year...right!!!!
Vera made a charm pack purse but smart lady ...she put larger pockets on hers...one on the inside and one on the outside ...Plus she put a magnetic snap to keep it closed.
Susan went to the Villa Madonna and I think she enjoyed the time...she made this table runner from bright colours and half square triangles

Then she got brave and worked a little out of her comfort zone...not wild and scrappy for Susan...she likes it a little more co-ordinated. However, she makes it , it will be beautiful.
This beauty is another piece she started working on....her finishing applique in the borders...as I said, she does beautiful work.
Lillian felt this fabric was ugly and just had to make something out of it ...so it turned out great and works as a table topper.
These are six wonderful soft bibs she made for a young girl that suffers from Cerebral Palsy....what a generous and kind heart she has.
Melda made this sweet teddy bear with its jointed arms and legs...wonder who it is for?
Leigh is back from the sunny climes and brought this wonderful bargello bag with her.She says she has more to show us...can't wait to see it all...she always brings back such interesting projects.
Jean showed the tree skirt she finished at the Villa...she always get something done while the rest of us plug away at new projects and get nothing finished.
Judy got her cuddle quilt challenge done. She didn't wait for the end of the year to do it.  Brings us up to over 40 cuddle quilts ready to go where needed...sure makes you feel good to know there are kids out there that will use them.
Cynthia made some pillow cases to go with the gorgeous quilt she showed us last time......
and here's the pillow shams that match the wonderful label she put on that quilt.  So well coordinated, that girl....
Renate did the same....matching the fabrics to a quilt she made...here's hoping she has enough to match the second quilt she did using those fabrics...
Hiding behind this quilt is Marj....she quilted this sweet heart quilt for Vivian Patriquin and did a wonderful job....of course, Marj is known for that.
Ha, Ha , Cheryl I caught you.....see her scrappy nine patch with the coral grouting...I can't wait to see it all together...it is going to be so beautiful....
