Visit to Akerley Area Quilt Guild February 14, 2024

Members accepted an invitation extended by Akerley and Area Quilt Guild for lunch a program.








A travelling Fibre Art Network exhibit "Up Close" was enjoyed. Each piece was shown and description read out loud. Many pieces were for sale. Feel free to visit it online  
 

We listened with interest to information about Victoria's Quilts.

Many in the group had Show and Tell items.

A fun project using a twister ruler.






Muriel G. brought along a half square triangle runner that she made years ago.





This project was a photo on fabric. Cats Sylvester, Juliet and Zoe were the subjects.



Judy H. showed a Bargello with very small pieces.



A purple sampler.


Susan S. showed her Metro Rings quilt.






Something most of us have never made, a Hippo.




Jane K. brought her paper pieced table runner.




I know this person's name is Ann and she knits socks.





Sharon R. made a pair of pillowcases.



This Kaleidoscope quilt was also referred to as a One Block Wonder.







Pretty Placemats



Birds are the theme of this winter wall hanging.





Such a pretty multi-coloured quilt.







Margaret Mc. praised the role of a quilt guild in teaching new things. She wore her very pretty quilted vest.





Another Metro Rings Quilt from the Sussex Guild. Diane G. made this pretty version of a workshop project.






A unique sampler quilt using scraps. last years mystery blocks.








This quilt was created by adding rows (strips) of fabric.





The Akerley Area Quilt Guild Banner was created using a map of where they are from.
