September 10, 2018 Evening

We're back after a long, hot and humid summer.  Some of us were busy and some of us were busier.  Beth started our show and tell with these gorgeous pillow cases with antique lace.....something I have always coveted...they look so pretty and feminine!
She and Chris took a trip to Port Elgin and visited "Louie" at Spruce it Up so Beth could quilt this beautiful log cabin....and buy fabric just in case she needed more...you know how it is.
Jeannie made Eliot's blankie and has it all ready for him.
Wendy is back and with a few of her projects....she's always a busy sewer and quilter.  This is a great project bag that she made....has room for everything you need for whatever project you want to do.
This beauty was called "chinese lanterns", "balloons" and anything else we could think of until Wendy told us it is called "Bazaar" after the bazaars in Istanbul, Turkey. A quilter visited and then designed this scrappy to remind her of the lanterns hanging in the bazaar....
Wendy made this truly masculine quilt for her son, under strict instructions to not include anything 'froufrou' in it.  She was very successful but it is still wonderful.
An easy technique that looks so difficult. It is done in strips with half hexies containing triangles cut at 60 degrees, add a border around each one then sew them in stips....voila...a hexie quilt.....so unique!
Ruth got her paper pieced Christmas tree done and brought it in to show...well done.
This stunning curvy log cabin is from a retreat that Ruth went to . She did an amazing job and her colour choices were perfect.
Picture out of sequence...this is Wendy's bag...it has lots of pockets and works up easily...her words , not mine since I haven't gotten around to doing mine...it sits in a container (with all the fabrics chosen) in my work room awaiting its turn to be constructed....hope it doesn't wait long as I love this bag!!
